But the Messi mania that has gripped the city has compelled Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her ministers to cancel all appointments. Even the chief minister, who is not a die-hard football fan, advanced the Cabinet meeting scheduled on Friday to Thursday following a request from her colleagues. Moreover, from Governor M K Narayanan to Banerjee, the whole political class is likely to be present at the stadium on Friday. It seems Messi has scored a goal for Parivartan, even before the whistle blows.
