With the austerity drive coming to an end in a few days, ministers will be free to fly business class once again. The most relieved will be Renewable Energy Minister Farooq Abdullah who, given his height, found it especially difficult to fit into the economy class seats. Though the directive did not apply to Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee since he has his own aircraft, he had reduced its use during the austerity drive. Mukherjee will now fly in his official aircraft to Paris in May for an official meeting.
