PAC's 'student politics'

At a press conference on the 2G spectrum controversy, an indignant Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman Murli Manohar Joshi recalled his days as a professor in Banaras Hindu University while explaining the appointment of Congress MP Saifuddin Soz as the PAC chairman for a day. Joshi said whenever there was a strike on the university campus, the union leaders would first dismiss the government-appointed vice-chancellor and then appoint someone from among themselves in his place. The union-appointed vice-chancellor would then dismiss the registrar and assume office. Joshi said his removal was similar.
