Human Resources Development Minister Kapil Sibal was asked to comment on the Jaswant Singh episode while he was addressing a press conference on restructuring of the National Literacy Mission. Sibal quickly shot off, “Hum chahte hain ki log itne shikshit ho jaayein ki kitab padh sakein (We want people to be literate enough to be able to read the book).”

Having got every one’s attention, he had another dig at the BJP, “hamari bhi chintan baithak hui hai (like the BJP, we too had a meeting to discuss serious issues)”.
