The headmaster of a school in Bardhaman district of West Bengal seems to have taken the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan too seriously. The block development officer (BDO) of Raina in the district had to intervene when some students of the school complained that their headmaster made them clean the school toilets. Of the seven students asked to clean the toilets that had been built for them but were being used by the teachers, three followed the headmaster's orders while the rest went into hiding. A photograph of the students in their school uniforms cleaning muck went viral. The headmaster is said to have submitted an apology letter to the BDO since then.
