Union power

In case you did not know, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), too, has a trade union. Recently, when it was clear that the government’s economic reforms agenda was going nowhere, an NCP minister invited the union to come to Delhi and represent that the workers were against divestment — “because I knew it won’t happen, so why not give our own union a chance to voice its opinion?" the minister laughingly said.
