With tweets, Facebook updates and text messages doing the rounds, leading corporations are unlikely to neglect updating their official websites. For an article on FieldFresh Foods, we were specifically told to describe the company as a joint venture between Bharti Ventures of the Delhi-based Mittal family and Del Monte Pacific of the Philippines. The website, however, says the company is a joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and Del Monte. What’s the difference? Apparently Bharti Ventures is a subsidiary of Bharti Enterprises and, confusingly, since this structure is an “internal break-up” it doesn’t show on the FieldFresh website. So much for transparency.
