Anandiben sets 100-day target for 'progressive Gujarat'

Campaign will focus on 11 major people-oriented welfare programmes under 48 administrative heads

On completing one month in office, chief minister Anandiben Patel today set the next 100-day target for her government. Calling it the ‘100-day Target for Progressive Gujarat’ the campaign will to focus on 11 major people-oriented welfare programmes under 48 administrative heads.

The target include social and welfare issues like women empowerment, malnutrition free Gujarat, Mahatma Gandhi cleanliness drive and others. These points have been draw to given a new direction to development in Gujarat.

Announcing the 100-days target today, government spokespersons Nitin Patel and Saurabh Patel said that state administrative setup has already established its unique identity in the country, and has now prepared different themes to concentrate on the new targets for all round development of the people through pro-active administration.

They said the targets have been fixed keeping in mind Gujarat’s development model and would include issues like women’s empowerment, nutritious Gujarat, and Mahatma Gandhi Health Mission among other issues. The targets of the 100-day programme would be widely publicised across the state through different channels, public debate, Garib Kalyan Mela, Chintan Shibir and SWAGAT online grievance redressal forum.

Other issues included in the targets are modernisation of revenue records, priority to drinking water and solid waste disposal under Gujarat Urban Mission, starting 100 days Smart Learning programmes in select 500 schools, strengthening the skill development training for youth and holding job fairs. The government spokespersons said that the government has set special benchmark for government officials to attain the targets.

The campaign would be implemented under the direct supervision of collectors and district development officers down to the taluka level by separate teams.
