"We informed the Prime Minister of worsening law and order situation, huge rise in crime against women and also about the unbridled activities of chit funds," senior state Congress leader Manas Bhuniya said.
The West Bengal PCC delegation, led by president Pradip Bhattacharya and Bhuniya, along with other leaders, met Singh who is here to participate in the bicentenary celebrations of Indian Museum, at the Raj Bhavan.

According to him, Singh said he would look into their plea and gave an assurance that he would ask National Commission for Women to look into the complaint of rising crime against women in the state.
The delegation informed the PM of a hunger strike by Union Minister Deepa Dasmunshi to press for setting up an AIIMS-like institute in her constituency Raiganj.
The Prime Minister then spoke to Dasmunshi over phone and asked her to end her hunger-strike, which she had began in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue here on Friday, Bhuniya said.
The delegation also requested the Prime Minister to increase the minimum quota for jute packaging of sugar and food grains in the interest of the ailing jute industry of West Bengal.
