DMK chief slams Sushma for pushing Bhagavad Gita as national scripture

BJP Govt is implementing various welfare measures, but spoiling name by indulging in such unwanted actions, says Karunanidhi

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK's) President M Karunanidhi today condemned Union Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj for her proposal to make Bhagavad Gita as a national scripture saying India is a secular country.

In a statement today Karunanidhi said that the Constitution says India is a Secular Republic and the Centre should treat all religions equally and follow secular principles.

The DMK Supermo said that the BJP government is implementing various people welfare measures, but it is spoiling its name by indulging in such unwanted actions.

Karunanidhi also urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take the Government forward carefully without any hindrance to the developmental activities by such controversial views.
