Election paves way for CII to organise Rajyotsav
The exhibition and the stalls put by the leading industrial houses during the show have been the highlight of the event
R Krishna Das Raipur The ensuing assembly election in Chhattisgarh have paved the way for the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to organise the state’s foundation day this year.
The CII has been organising the show that also showcases the state’s achievement in different sectors. The exhibition and the stalls put by the leading industrial houses during the show had been the highlight of the event.
Since 2003, the CII has been organising the event in partnership with Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC). But last year, it was barred from the show as the state government preferred to hire other agencies to organise the Rajyotsav.
The state’s first global investment meet was the highlight of last year’s foundation day. The event is organised in the month of November as the state came into being on November 1, 2000.
The state government has decided to assign CII to organise the Rajyotsav 2013 as the event will not have much bang. For, the state government cannot actively participate in the show following model code of conduct in force in the state that goes to the polls in two phases in November.
The huge stalls of the state government’s department depicting the achievements would however miss the venue. The government fund cannot be used for the publicity of the party. The CII had been associated with the event to invite the industrialists to put up the stalls.
A CII spokesperson said that the Rajyotsav and Enterprise Chhattisgarh 2013 would be organised from October 30 to November 1. The three-day event, which is the most popular Expo in the mineral-rich state, is expected to attract a large number of visitors from all sectors this year, the spokesperson
