Singh also accused Narendra Modi of immersing the whole of Gujarat under debt and said he will do the same with the whole of India, going by his ambition to be the Prime Minister.
"Gujarat has one of the highest debt liabilities. In Gujarat, the per capital debt is highest in the country. This means that every Gujarat citizen is under highest debt, this the figures confirm," said Singh.

"Modi has the guts to say 'Meine Gujarat ka karz utar diya ab Desh ka karz utarna hai' Another indicator of Gujarat Model of Development!," he said in another tweet.
Talking about Modi, he said, "He has immersed the whole Gujarat under debt and with his ambition to become the Prime Minister, he will immerse the whole of India also under debt as did with Gujarat."
The remarks against Modi have been countered by the BJP, saying the per capita debt in Gujarat is lower at Rs 23,000 than the national average of Rs 33,000.
Terming Singh as "politically bankrupt" and one who knows nothing about economics, BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh said, "When Narendra Modi took over as Chief Minister, as per the Planning Commission report the percentage to GSDP was somewhere around 39 per cent.
