CM to present Telangana wish list to PM and colleagues

Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhara Rao on Friday left for Delhi where he would be meeting President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Union ministers on Saturday.  He is expected to return on Sunday.

While these would be largely courtesy visits, the chief minister is also planning to present the wishlist of the newly-formed Telangana state, according to officials.

KCR is expected to ask for the construction of a 4,000-Megawatt thermal power project by NTPC along with coal linkages keeping in view the power deficit status of Telangana.

Speedier implementation of various assurances given in the AP Reorganisaton Act and modification in Polavaram irrigation project design to reduce submergence of tribal areas  in Telangana are among the other issues included in the agenda, officials said.

He is also expected to seek exemption from the Financial Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) Act for the current year to enable the government to raise more funds.
