PM wants India to be a manufacturing hub, launches new schemes for poor, model villages

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his first Independence Day speech today said that the nation was built by the farmers, labourers, women, youth and not the leaders or governments. Here are the top highlights of what the PM said:
 
1)  I want to tell the world: 'Come, Make In India'. Sell anywhere but come and manufacture here, we have the skills and talent

2) Planning Commission has become archaic, will be replaced by new body soon

3) Announces new scheme, 'Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana' where MPs can adopt one small village each and make it a model village

4)  Announces Jan Dhan Yojana wherein every poor family will get an insurance cover of Rs 1 lakh, bank account.
 
5) We don't wish to proceed in Parliament through majority but through consensus

6) I am an outsider to Delhi. In the last two months, I got an insider's view. I saw that even in one government there were different governments. 
 
7) We have a skewed sex ratio. I appeal to parents not to sacrifice the girl child. 
 
8) Pitches for e-governance, says e-governance is easy governance, effective governance. Wants broadband connectivity for all

9) Asks people to undertake at least a 10-year moratorium on communal, caste and class clashes to see positive results

10) MPs should use funds to build toilets in all schools. Corporates should use CSR funds for this. 

11) Appeals to SAARC nations to work together to end poverty.

12) Announces clean India campaign from October 2 as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi
