Airline recognised for its innovative business strategies at India’s leading B2B travel industry awards.
Air Arabia, the first and largest low-cost carrier (LCC) in the Middle East and North Africa, announced today that it has won the top award in the category of ‘Innovation in Operations - Low-Cost Carrier Airline’ at the recent Express TravelWorld Awards 2010-2011 held in New Delhi.
Air Arabia was recognised for its innovation in business at the annual awards, now in their eighth year. The awards are widely regarded as India’s most respected B2B travel industry awards and were open to all organisations with registered offices in India that have been operational for two years or more. Nominations were assessed by an independent jury, with Ernst & Young as the official process advisors.
“We are delighted to receive this prestigious award, which recognises the success of our growth strategy in the key market of India, where Air Arabia now has thirteen destinations,” said AK Nizar, Head of Commercial Department at Air Arabia. “As the pioneer of low cost air travel in the region, Air Arabia prides itself on innovation-driven strategies that differentiate the airline in all areas of our operations.
“Whether it is our ‘Indianised’ menus on our flights to the Asian subcontinent, or our award-winning fleet of Airbus A320s, we have consistently delivered best-in-class products and services to our customers across the region,” he added. “Air Arabia would like to take this opportunity to thank Express TravelWorld Awards for this tribute.'
The Express TravelWorld Awards seek to salute the most innovative companies and practices that have taken the travel, tourism, hospitality and aviation industry forward. They celebrate industry innovators in categories including airlines, tour/travel operators, tourism boards, hotels and car and bus rentals.
