The Bangalore based Hind High Vacuum Co. Pvt. Ltd.(HHV), announced that it has bagged a prestigious contract from Valeo, France-Lighting Product Group for the global supply of ‘Vacuum Metalizing Systems’ used in making headlamps for automobiles. The initial contract is worth Rs. 40 crores.

HHV, the flagship company of the HHV Group, a multi-technology group of companies involved in the design, development and manufacture of equipment and products in the field of Vacuum Technology, Solar Photovoltaic Energy and Thin Films, is the only manufacturer of such sophisticated systems in India.

Valeo is among the world’s top vendors of components, integrated systems and modules for the automotive industry. The Vacuum Metalizing systems from HHV will be supplied to the Lighting Systems Product Group, part of the Visibility Systems Business Group of Valeo.

The system is employed for polymeric coating of reflectors used in the headlamps manufactured by Valeo for the automobile industry. Itwill facilitate good reflection as well as long life even under hot and humid conditions. Customised for Valeo, the systemhas a large twin door chamber of 1200 mm x 1800 mm which can accommodate complicated shapes in a wide range of sizes. The cycle time covering pre-coating for clearing, evaporation and polymerization has been reduced to a minimum, thereby giving increased capacity and productivity.

Said Mr Yannick Le Nue, Worldwide Industrial Director , Valeo Lighting Systems “When we began scouting for Metalizer for LEAN: 2.0 production lines (0.2 million pieces / line / year), we were introduced to HHV by our Regional Operations Director, Mr.Sundaram Mani. We found HHV technically competent to develop this metalizer. HHV was chosen amongst global short-listed suppliers. We gave HHV a trial order. HHV lived up to our expectation. The performance of the equipment has been validated and we decided to put HHV, Bangalore as a global supplier to our manufacturing centres worldwide and we anticipate several orders for these machines over the coming years.

Said Mr NagarjunSakhamuri, Managing Director, HHV, “The bagging of this prestigious international contract is a reflection of the superiority of our design and the reliability of our product. This recognition will further enhance our capability to compete in international markets.”
