Birla Kennametal is now BPT Plans Rs 40 crore expansion in 2009-10

Birla Kennametal Ltd, established in 1986, as a joint venture between Yash Birla Group and Kennametal Inc, USA has been renamed Birla Precision Technologies Ltd. Birla Precision Technologies (BPT) is now wholly owned entity of the Yash Birla Group.

Leveraging its core competency of machining and, forward integration into machining of precision components and castings, BPT manufactures a wide range of precision AT3 Class Steep Taper, HSK Tooling as well as work Holding products in  its ultra modern and well equipped, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 certified manufacturing facility at Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

Says Vice President Mr. Anil Choudhari, “Birla Precision Technologies  will continue to be the primary vendor of Kennametal Inc worldwide (USA, Germany and APAC) for tool holder. BPT also caters to global giants across USA, Europe and countries in the Far East including China including MSC, Cummins, Knorr-Bremse and Husco International.”

Mr. M.S. Arora, CEO, adds, “The Company is planning to expand its auto components manufacturing capability and will implement its Rs 40 crore plans in 2009-10. We expect to reach a turnover of 100 Crores by 2011-12.”
