DHL, the world’s leading logistics provider, today presented ‘Future of Fashion’ at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2011. Partnering with cutting edge designers Nachiket Barve, Swapnil Shinde and Shilpa Chavhan, DHL demonstrated its expertise as a trade facilitator for the fashion industry.

The ensembles of the three designers were inspired by DHL’s core brand attribute of: Speed. The brand colours saw prominence and the designs had a good balance keeping in mind the trends that will unfold in the months to come.

Commenting on DHL’s association with Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2011, Mr. Chandrashekar Pitre, Senior Director Marketing, South Asia DHL Express India said: “Through more than 50 years in fashion, DHL has always provided speedy response and convenient delivery that the industry demands. We have developed specific logistics solutions to meet the demanding needs of this dynamic sector. Our partnership with these three designers highlights our commitment to the fashion industry and provides a platform for designers to showcase their talent.”

Creating his own textiles, using a plethora of techniques, Nachiket Barve has a distinct look that is effortless, chic yet extremely refined. The look of the range is international, while the elements that go into making it are Indian.

For Swapnil Shinde, this season is about breaking new trends and being at the cutting edge of fashion. His designs have been consistently well appreciated and have won accolades the world over.

Little Shilpa started as an accessory brand specializing in collaborations with designers at fashion week shows and later shoots as well. Her collection follows a vintage trend and transcends it into a modern product through the usage of various raw materials which juxtapose each other from fabric, trimmings, metal and acrylic.

All three retail at stores spread across the country.
