After entering Serbia last quarter with its Solis range of Tractors, International Tractors Limited (ITL) has further underlined its presence in Europe by entering Turkey. The Eurasian country provides access to many markets like Europe and Africa and is also a strong base for automotive manufacturing.
ITL has multi pronged strategy to capture the biggest tractor market of the Middle East. According to data recently released by the Turkish Association of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers’ (TARMAKBIR), tractors sale surpassed 40000 units in 2010 and is expected to rise by 13% in 2011.
ITL will distribute of its ‘Solis’ range of tractors through various leading players of the tractor industry. “Turkey has a strong demand for medium power tractors. About 85% tractors in Turkey are in the range of 35-60HP. ‘Solis’ with its unmatched quality, high pulling capacity, high fuel efficiency and low emission will be suitable for multiple usage in Turkish market.”, said Mr. A.S. Mittal, Vice Chairman, International Tractors Limited.
ITL is already supplying engines to Turkey and will be strengthening its distribution further. It is also planning to distribute drive trains, develop cabins and form joint ventures to supply the world cars to Turkish market. ITL also has plans to setup assembly unit in Turkey.
ITL is one of the few companies in India which has Compliance European Stage III for engine emission which makes it a strong contender in European markets. ITL already has its presence in 65 countries and is all set to become the largest exporter of tractors by reaching the length and breadth of the world. The European advent is a strong step towards its coveted goal.
