Lucknow Airport renamed as Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport

Briefing newspersons after the Cabinet meeting the Union Finance Minister Mr. P Chidambaram said: "This decision to rename the airport will honor the sentiments of the people. It will also be a befitting tribute to the late Prime Minister" When asked if the renaming of the airport was to meet the demand of any political parties, Mr. Chidambaram said: "It will ensure smooth take off and landing".
