Mr Ramu S Deora, Chairman G.Amphray Laboratories, Mumbai has been elected as the President of the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO). He brings with him rich experience in the field of international trade. He spear headed India's exports during difficult times and had tirelessly and fearlessly persuaded the cause of exporters. When India’s exports were at infant stage, he took intensive export promotion campaign across the globe right from Latin America to Japan. He was instrumental in working hand in hand with the Government of India to simplify country's Foreign Trade Policy which was drastically simplified and made transparent. Recognising his invaluable contribution to exports, he was awarded the “Lifetime Achievement Award".
Mr Deora is also Chairman of FICCI Trade Facilitation Forum, Member, Board of Trade (BOT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of All India Shippers Council and Chairman of Association of Shippers Council of Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka (ASCOBIPS). He was also Chairman of Basic Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics Export Promotion Council (CHEMEXCIL).
Mr Deora feels that we will cross the export target of US $ 200 billion set for this fiscal by diversifying the exports to Latin America, South East Asia, Middle East and African Countries.
Mr Jayant Kumar Jain has been elected as the Vice President of FIEO. He is the Jt. Managing Director of The LMJ Group, a star trading house exporting to more than 70 countries in the world. He is management graduate from prestigious St. Xavier's College of Kolkata. The LMJ Group is one of India’s leading exporters and deals in commodities ranging from staple food like wheat, rice, soyabeans, sugar, spices, animal feed etc., beverages like tea and coffee, and guargum and iron ore.
Mr Jain is also an Executive Member of SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Indo Pak Chamber of Commerce and FICCI SAARC Forum a hugely-influential body for regional trade. He is also a member of the CII Agriculture and Infrastructure Committee and FICCI’s Foreign Trade Committee.
