Top Management Reorganisation at Blue Star

As part of the process of organisational development and succession planning, Blue Star Limited has announced a number of forthcoming top management organisational changes, which will come into effect from July 1, 2009.

Mr.Ashok M. Advani will be redesignated Executive Chairman while Mr. Suneel M. Advani will continue as Vice Chairman and Managing Director. Mr. Satish Jamdar, Deputy Managing Director, will be promoted as Managing Director while Mr. T.G.S. Babu will continue as Deputy Managing Director.

Mr. Avinash Pandit will continue as President, Electro Mechanical Projects Group while Mr. B. Thiagarajan will be promoted as President, Channel Business Group and Mr. Vir Advani will be promoted as President, Corporate Affairs and Special Projects.

Mr.Ashok Advani explains the purpose of these changes, “My brother, Suneel and I have been grooming a younger team of capable professionals over the last couple of years, and have been progressively moving out of day to day operations, so that we can devote ourselves to broader issues such as planning and guiding the future of the Company, organisational development, allocation of resources and monitoring of business performance.

Blue Star has recently announced good financial results for 2008-09 and the Company is in robust condition to get through the business slowdown. We have great confidence in Satish Jamdar and the new top management team. Suneel and I remain very much involved in Blue Star, and will work with them to maintain the Company’s excellent track record”.
