Visit USA Committee signs Theme Ventures for strategic media PR

Theme Ventures has been assigned to manage The Visit USA Committee’s media communication nationwide. The newly formed Indian Chapter of “Visit USA Committee” (VUSAcom),comprising of leading travel & tourism companies in India and supported by the US commerce department has launched a media education campaign in India with the assistance of Theme Ventures, a diversified Below the Line Marketing(BTL) Firm.

Speaking to journalists in New Delhi, Rajan Guha, Chief Executive, Theme Ventures observed, “Initiatives like encouraging Indian tourists to Visit USA can only be encouraged through subtle media communication. Strategic Media PR is still an unknown commodity in India. It is vastly different from routine corporate PR which broadly deals with finance, product launches and production statistics. VUSAcom’s Media PR is about broad policy initiative, tourism strategy, global B2B alliances and America’s image management in India.”

PR Speak, the media PR division of Theme Ventures, has put in place a plan to reach out to all publications countrywide which has an audience that travel to the west for leisure or business. Commenting on the media plan says Rajan Guha, CEO, Theme Ventures, “And contrary to popular belief, we find the leading vernacular press in each region to have more travelers to the West. India has been identified by USA as the second largest exporter of tourists to America after China. This is when its still classified as a third world country in the World bank’s economic ranking of nations.”

Issues that concern VUSAcom and those which shall prominently feature in Theme Venture’s media communication are: streamlining of tourist visa, promotion of various prominent destinations in USA, driving alliances between leading Indian travel companies and state tourism boards and destination management companies.
