"Prasar Bharti will set up the regional news broadcasting centre at Visakhapatnam shortly, which will be the third in the state after Vijaywada and Hyderabad," said Additional Director General (RNU) P J Sudhakar.
He also informed about the Prasar Bharti's plans to establish new regional news centres and FM radio stations for the benefit of public in the state.
Sudhakar said that seven more regional news centres had been sanctioned in the country in 11th Five-Year Plan (2007-12).
He informed that Union HRD Minister M M Pallam Raju will inaugurate FM Rainbow radio station in Kakinada on January 2.
"We are taking necessary steps to introduce new headlines in FM stations," the ADG said.
