GJM wins majority of seats uncontested in GTA

Returning officer and SDO of Darjeeling Sadar, Samden Dukpa said, "GJM candidates have won 28 seats uncontested in 45-member GTA. Elections will be held in 17 seats of the hill council."

GJM and Trinamool Congress candidates will contest in 16 seats and a GJM candidate will take on an Independent in the elections.

CPI-M has withdrawn all its candidates, officials said.

Polling will be held on 29 July.
