'Increase vigil at rivers, canals during monsoon season'

Punjab Irrigation Minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon today held a meeting of department's officers to assess the preparedness in tackling any eventuality during rainy season.

Sekhon instructed the Chief engineer (Drainage) to personally monitor flood works and prepare an elaborate report in this regard.

Sekhon also instructed the Chief Engineer (Canal) to increase vigilance along all embankments of rivers and canals.
