"MP police identified the mastermind of the treasury loot through close circuit camera footage. The footage was circulated to us. The main culprit is a resident of Kandiahaat village under Rajkanika police station in Kendrapara district," Sub Divisional Police Officer, Kendrapara, Nrusingha Charan Swain said.
Though a series of raids were conducted jointly by a special investigation team of MP police and local police, there was no trace of the, He was absconding, Swain said.
Property amounting to over Rs 30 crore in the treasury was looted on August 29 after using sedatives to make the armed guards unconsciousness.
Valuable jewelries of temples, cash and valuables deposited by the tehsil and judicial courts of Guna district in Madhya Pradesh were stolen, the sources said.
Swain said the culprit had gone to Guna Township in Madhya Pradesh about couple of years back.
He was suspected to be involved in two other similar treasury heist cases in MP.
