'Muslim youths are being unduly harassed and targeted'

President of AMU Teachers' Association, Prof Abdul Qaiyyum convened the meeting yesterday which was presided by former Rajya Sabha MP and state president of the Maharashtra unit of Samajawadi Party, Abu Asim Azmi.

The meeting was held under the aegis of the Muslim Welfare Association at the AMU.

A decision was taken in the meeting to hold a national convention at Lucknow on this issue and some other critical issues faced by the Muslim community, Qaiyyum said today.

The date for the convention will be announced shortly, he said.

The failure to implement the Sachar Committee's recommendations is a major concern for the Muslim community, Qaiyyum said.
