1 dead, 2 hurt in firing at marriage party

One person died, while two others were injured when miscreants allegedly opened fire at a wedding ceremony under Brihampuri police station area, police said here today.
The incident occurred yesterday when three persons identified as - Mehraj, Khilafat and Tarikat - along with some other people reached the wedding of the bride, Sahista, and opened fire, district police spokesperson said.
While one died on the spot, Hasin (15) and bride' brother Arif (28) were injured, he said, adding the injured have been hospitalised.
According to police, an old enmity between the families of the victims and accused may have been the reason behind the incident.

Arif, who is one of the witness in a two-year-old murder case, was allegedly being pressurised by the accused to come to a settlement in the issue, police said, adding there could be a relation between the two incidents.
Following a complaint lodged by the Arif's family, a case has been registered against 11 people including Mehraj, Khilafat and Tarikat, police said, adding search is on to nab the accused.
