Superintendent of Police R B Singh said high voltage started flowing in the distribution line in Dumaria village this morning due to which Sandeep Yadav (17) was electrocuted when he touched a switch to start fan.
Seven persons, including Farida (16), Meera (36), Ashok (35) and Ram Dulari (30), were injured and admitted to a government hospital, he said.
Victims are from different houses.
Agitated over the incident, local residents blocked the Haldi-Sahatwar road for three hours. They lifted the blockade only after receiving assurance from officials concerned.
