The accident took place today evening when a jeep carrying 13 persons, including the driver, plunged into a gorge near Malari village on Joshi Math-Niti-Motor way, Chamoli Superintendent of Police (SP) Sunil Kumar Meena said.
One person was killed on the spot while the remaining 12 sustained injuries, SP Meena said, adding that the injured were rescued by the jawans of ITBP force and admitted to a hospital in Joshi Math where two of them were said to be in critical condition.
