1 killed, 20 injured as under-construction gate collapses

A labourer was today killed and 20 others were injured when an under-construction gate of a residential colony in Faridpur area collapsed, police said.
The incident took place when 150-ft high cement gate of a residential colony, which was under construction, collapsed and 21 labourers were trapped in it, SP (Rural) Brijesh Kumar Srivastav said.
24-year-old Dharmpal was killed on the spot, he said, adding, 20 injured labourers were rushed to a hospital, where the condition of four was stated to be critical.
Attempts are on to clear the debris where more persons are expected to be trapped, the SP said.
