The victims were returning to Khairpal village under Majhgaon block after taking part in a football match in Kumardungi when the mishap occurred near Kumardungi more, police said.
The driver of the vehicle lost control over the vehicle and overturned leading to the death of 26-year-old Juria Purty of Khairpal village, while eight other suffered injuries.
All the injured were rushed to Primary Health Centre in Kumardungi, where they were undergoing treatment, sources added.
