1 killed, two injured in road mishap in Delhi

A 34-year-old man was killed while two others severely injured here today when a speeding car hit them when they were changing a deflated tyre of their vehicle, police said.
The incident occurred in the wee hours today near Lajpat Nagar area of southeast Delhi, when the deceased Suraj, a balloon decorator, along with Manoj (22), and a cab driver Balbeer Singh (41) were changing the punctured tyre of their car on the road side.
A white coloured speeding car came from behind and hit them, police said adding the errant driver fled from the spot.
While Suraj died due to severe head injuries, Balbeer's condition is critical and Manoj is stable, they said.
A case has been registered under Sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.
Police is scanning the CCTV footage of nearby traffic signal to identify the culprit, police said.
