Chandrashekhar, the son of a farmer, accidentally slipped into the borewell yesterday at around 2 PM while playing outside his house in Behri Khurd village under Mada police station limits of the district.
"Chandrashekhar fell into the newly dug borewell at the farmland owned by his father while playing there. On getting information, a police team reached the spot and started the rescue operation," Mada police station in-charge Ashwini Shukla said.
Oxygen was also pumped inside the borewell to make sure that the kid could breathe properly, he said.
The toddler was rescued after a 12-hour-long operation in the wee hours today, he said.
A team of doctors and district administration officials were also present at the spot.
Following the rescue, the child was kept under observation of the doctors.
