Ten Pakistani nationals, including a woman and seven children, from PoK were detained by security forces when they were trying to enter India from Nepal through Sonauli border, SSB sources said here today.
The group of 10 persons was stopped by SSB and local police for checking yesterday and they were detained when they failed to produce valid documents about their identity, the sources said.
They told police that they wanted to take advantage of the new Rehabilitation policy (2010) of the Jammu and Kashmir government and wanted to go there, police said.
According to the new surrender policy, former militants who crossed over to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) between 1989 and 2009 would be considered for safe return.
SSB commandant, Sonouli, B K Bankhoti told PTI that the group comprising two men, one woman and seven children, was sent to Jammu and Kashmir cell in Delhi by road.
Jawans of the SSB were also accompanying them, he said.
Bankhoti said all of them hailed from PoK's Muzafarabad town.
"They were married and settled there," he said, adding that the SSB would be accompanying the group till Delhi and from there the central intelligence agencies would take over.
