The parents of the girl complained to the district Superintendent of Police, Akash Meghariya, that she was first raped on the day of 'Mahalayala' on October 12 and again on the day of Lakshmi puja on October 26, a senior district police officer said.
When asked by the SP, the parents of the girl said they did not report the incident on the first occasion as they were being threatened by the accused, who was known to be close to a major political party.
After listening to their complaint, SP Meghariya told them to lodge a written complaint which they did.
Further probe is underway, the officer added.
