A Delhi court today directed the police to file an action taken report on a criminal complaint filed against Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh for his alleged "dog" remark in the wake of the Faridabad incident in which two children of a Dalit family were burnt alive.
Metropolitan Magistrate Muneesh Garg asked the police to submit the report by November 16 on the complaint seeking registration of FIR against Singh, former Army Chief, under the provisions of SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, Information Techology Act and the IPC.
"Summon, try, punish and confiscate his entire property which the accused person had collected through unfair means by exploiting the religious feelings of innocent citizens, under appropriate sections SC/ST (POA) Act, IT Act and IPC," the complaint filed by Advocate Satya Prakash Gautam said.
It also sought action against the SHO of Jafrabad Police Station for not taking action on his complaint and refusing to register FIR in the matter.
Singh had kicked up a storm with his alleged comments that the Centre cannot be blamed if somebody throws a stone at a dog in connection with the Faridabad incident.
In the complaint, the advocate said that he came to know about Singh's alleged remark through newspaper reports and the sentiments of his community were hurt by the statement.
"The statement of General V K Singh has caused immense damage to the entire community with a view to denigrate the prestige and honour of scheduled caste children with deliberate and malicious intention the religious feelings of entire scheduled caste community," the plea said.
It alleged that Singh wanted to "create an atmosphere of communal riots" and all law enforcing agencies, including the Election Commission, should be more vigilant towards such misdeeds due to Bihar assembly elections..
