11 dead in hotel fire in central China

At least 11 people were killed and 50 others injured in a hotel fire today in central China's Hubei Province.
"The fire broke out at 6.38 am, local time, in a hotel in the Fancheng District of the city of Xiangyang," state-run Xinhua news agency quoted the district government as saying.
The fire was extinguished at 8.50 am, local time, according to local firefighters.
The injured have been sent to local hospitals.
"The cause of the fire is under investigation," the agency quoted the local police as saying.
