11 hospitals in the state are going to be accredited for best health care facilities by the National Accreditation Board of Health care through Quality Council of India, the Jammu and Kashmir government said today.
"In order to improve quality care in health institutions, 11 hospitals in the state are being accredited by the National Accreditation Board of Health care through Quality Council of India," Minister of state for Health Shabir Ahmad Khan said, while addressing a public rally in the Thanamandi belt of Rajouri district today.
"Several steps have been taken to reverse the trend of declining sex ratio and the health department has dedicated 2013 to save the girl child," the Minister said.
Referring to the development of Rajouri, the Minister said economic welfare of far-flung and backward areas is top priority of the government adding that special schemes launched to uplift the rural and backward areas are yielding tangible results.
Government's priority is to upgrade communication, education and health cover in these areas to help generate economic activities and give fillip to education and health care facilities, the Minister said.
The government will continue to give special attention to achieve the targeted goals of development in these areas, he added.
Reiterating the state government's commitment towards holistic development of all regions of the state with special focus on border and hilly areas, the Minister said the government's pro-people policies and exemplary initiatives have placed the state on the track of peace and prosperity.
He affirmed that this will be carried forward with a mission to ensure all-round development of rural as well as border areas.
