11 killed, 10 injured in several road mishaps

Eleven persons were killed and 10 others got injured in several bike mishaps and one hit-and-run incident in different parts of Bihar today, in the run-up to Holi festivities.
In Samastipur district, three bikers were killed and two others injured in collision among three bikes near Kewta road under Dalsinghsarai police station area, police said.
The victims and the injured persons were allegedly drunk, Dalsinghsarai police station in-charge Subodh Chaudhary said, adding the injured had been admitted to a hospital.
In a similar incident in Madhubani district, a biker was killed and another injured in a collision between two motorcycles near Dengrautara village under Shaharghat police station area, Benipatti Sub-division's Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nirmala Kumari said.
In the third incident of bike collision, one person was killed while another got injured near Amra talab village under Mufassil police station area of Rohtas district, Sasaram Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Amarendra Kumar said.
In the fourth bike mishap, two motor-cycle borne persons were killed when their bike lost control and skidded off NH 77 near Bhagwanpur chowk in Vaishali district, Bhagwanpur SHO said. The incident occurred when a heavy vehicle suddenly came in front of the bike.
One biker was killed while another injured near Durga Mandir when a motorcycle rider tried to save a person on bi-cycle in town police station area of Madhepura, DySP Rajesh Kumar confirmed the incident.
Again five persons were injured in a bike collision at Mullachak village under Amas police station of Gaya district, Sherghati Sub-Divisional Police Officer Upendra Prasad said.
Meanwhile, in Rohtas district, three persons of a family including two minors were killed when they came under the wheels of a speeding truck while crossing NH 2 under Shivsagar police station area.
Sasaram Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Amarendra Kumar said that incident occurred early morning when they had gone to participate in 'Holika Dahan'.
