116 candidates empanelled for 36 depts at AIIMS, Bhopal

In a major recruitment drive for filling up faculty positions at AIIMS, Bhopal, 116 candidates including 14 professors have been empanelled recently for its 36 departments.
The empanelled candidates also included 34 associate professors and 58 assistant professors, against an existing strength of regular faculty of only 53, said an official statement.
It said the addition empanelment is expected to give a big boost to the health care services at the All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal.
"It would be possible to add soon health care services in 14 new speciality departments as against existing 22 departments functional today," the statement said.

The faculty recruitment for another five departments is also in advance stage.
In all, 251 faculty positions in 41 departments were advertised, against which, 1,561 applications were received. The interviews were conducted in three phases over a period of almost three months, the release said.
Filling up of the vacant positions was on hold earlier due to a stay by the court, which has since been lifted paving the way for the recruitment, the statement added.
