135 Indian turtles recovered, two persons arrested

Around 135 Indian turtles were recovered and two persons were today arrested for allegedly smuggling them in Uttar Pradesh, a Forest department officer said.
"Following a tip off Majhgain Forest range officials raided a bus on Pallia-Nighasan road and recovered 135 Indian turtles kept in three bags and arrested two persons," the officer said
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) North Kheri G P Singh said a woman and a youth have been arrested and a case under appropriate sections of wildlife protection act has been lodged against them.
