Two cars and household articles were recovered from those arrested and a case registered under section 151, CrPC by Raya police, Deputy Superintendent of Police Surendra Singh Yadav said.
Those arrested belong to an outfit called Azad Bharat Vidhik Vaicharik Kranti Satygrahi, a splinter group of followers of spiritual guru Baba Jai Gurudev, who passed away in 2012.
Thousands of activists of the outfit have been illegally occupying hundreds of acres of government land at Jawahar Park in Mathura since 2014. The park comes under the Horticulture Department of the state government.
In April this year, a 48-hour ultimatum was issued by the district administration asking the encroachers to vacate the land. But, the impasse continues.
The "squatters" have been demanding farmer-friendly policies.
