14 arrested for gambling in Haryana, Rs 51,000 seized

Haryana Police has arrested fourteen persons for gambling and Rs 51,000 has been seized from them, police said today.
Fourteen persons have been arrested for gambling from different places, police said.
They have been identified as Meherpal, Deepchand, Suraj and Vijay (residents of Gandhi Colony), Surendra, Chandrapal, Madan Lal and Ved Prakash (residents of SGM Nagar), Rampal, Meherchand, Parshuram, Charti Mandal, Ved Prakash and Mahendra Tavenia (residents of Sector 9), they said.
Rs 51,000 cash has been seized from the accused, police said, adding, a case under relevant sections of the Public Gambling Act has been registered against the accused.
Meanwhile, in an another incident, one mobile phone has been seized from an inmate of Nimka jail during a surprise inspection, police said.
The jail's deputy superintendent had lodged a complaint in this connection on Friday stating that during a surprise inspection, a mobile phone and a sim card was found with jail inmate Haridas, resident of Machargaon, they said.
