15-year-old girl raped by local Cong worker in Raj

A local Congress worker has been booked for allegedly raping his 15-year-old neighbour repeatedly in the district, a senior police official said today.
The victim's brother filed a complaint yesterday against 45-year-old Abdul Salaam, an ex-ward member of Lakheri municipality board in this district, SHO Bhagwati Prashad Suman said.
The minor, a school dropout, has alleged that Salaam had raped her couple of times when she was alone at home, the SHO said.
The victim further alleged that Salaam would frequently visit her home, and molest and eve-tease her, the SHO said.
The girl said the ordeal has been going on for over months and she was threatened not to reveal it to anyone, the SHO informed.

She has undergone medical examination and report is awaited, he added.
Salaam has been booked under under section 376 and POSCO Act, Suman said, adding the accused was yet to be arrested.
The victim lives with her other two brothers in Lakheri. She divulged the ordeal to one of her brother who filed a complaint with the police, the SHO added.
