The young curators will work from November 2015 to April 2017 towards curating a show and engaging the public with selected works of students of art colleges from across India, according to a KBF release here today.
The Student's Biennale exhibition will run parallel to Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2016.
The curators will now travel to art colleges across India and select their students' works before eventually lining them up at a show beginning December next year in Fort Kochi alongside the third edition the country's only Biennale.
The curators chosen are Faiza Hasan, Aryakrishnan Ramakrishnan, Shruti Ramlingaiah, Rajyashri Goody, Sumithra Sunder, Paribartana Mohanty, Adwait Singh, Vivek Chockalingam, Shatavisha Mustafi, Harshita Bathwal,Naveen Mahantesh,Sarojini Lewis, Ajit Kumar, Lleah Smith and Noman Ammouri, it said.
The KMB Student's Biennale is a platform that brings together works of art students from across the country under one roof.
The 2016 edition of it is being supported by Tata Trusts and is organised in association with Foundation for Indian Contemporary Art and Foundation for Indian Art and Education.
"This project will nurture new values in art-making, curatorial learning and administrative responsibilities," he said.
Shivadas said the group of 15 curators would bring in fresh experience and expertise to the project. "Their initiative towards the Student's Biennale can work as an important catalyst of change in the field of art education," she added.
The inaugural edition of Student's Biennale under KMB'14 was curated by 15 youths who hosted works of 130 fine-arts students from 37 colleges across India. The works were put up at Mohammed Ali Warehouse and KVA Brothers in Mattancherry here.
