A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by her friend and his two acquaintances in Nawabganj here, a police official said today.
The victim had yesterday gone to meet Sidharth Diwedi (18) when he along with Harshit Tewari (19) and Pawan (19) dragged her to a nearby forest and allegedly raped her, SP (west) Sanjiv Saran said.
They gagged the girl with a piece of cloth to prevent her from raising an alarm and fled the scene afterwards, leaving her in a critical condition, the SP added. She was spotted by locals and admitted to a hospital.
The police have registered a case under relevant sections of POCSO Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Two of the accused, Diwedi and Tewari, both residents of Gangaghat, Unnao were arrested today while the search for the third accused is on, the SP said.
