The youth told police that he and the girl were sitting in a car in Anand Vihar, and she had threatened to commit suicide if he didn't relent as her family was against their relationship. Suddenly, she swallowed the pills when she saw one of the family members approaching her in another vehicle.
According to police, the incident came to light when girl was not found in her school and later, officials of a hospital informed police about her death.
"We have recorded the statement of girl's friend. Body has been for post mortem examination and further investigation is on," a senior official said.
