They said the girl had gone to fields to collect fodder on Thursday afternoon when she was attacked. Her body was found by a farmer.
The girl's family members have said she had a piece of cloth wrapped tightly around her neck. Her clothes were torn and there were evidences of struggle. They said it was possible that there were more than one person involved in the crime.
Police have said it was suspected that the girl was raped. Things will be clear after post-mortem report.
